Overboard Waterproof Pro-Sports Backpack - Durable Dry Bag for Swimming, Kayaking, Hiking & Outdoor Adventures

Bought this as a present for someone who SCUBA dives regularly. Looked sturdy and waterproof enough for a day out on the boat. Will update as they use it more.I have to say this product definitely lives up to the promises. I recently took this backpack on a trip to Antarctica. Spent days carrying this on hikes, kayaking, and countless rides in open zodiacs. Both myself (and the backpack) were totally drenched. Not a drop of water entered the backpack. I used the 20L backpack to transport my camera equipment. It protected my gear throughout the trip. Others were not so lucky.For photographers out there: The 20L held two Canon DSLR cameras with 70-200mm f/2.8L lenses attached. To make this into a more secure and padded camera bag (since the bag has no padding... it's designed to be waterproof) I cut a piece of 1/2 inch dense foam padding to fit the bottom shape of the bag. That way when setting the bag down it wouldn't bang up my cameras. I also placed the two cameras in scrims (which are stretchy covers) so they wouldn't rub. I placed the cameras in the bag with the camera body down, side by side. It makes for a nice snug fit.We kayaked extensively, so my camera bag had to be small enough to fit between my legs into a sea kayak. Again, the 20L works great for this purpose. I can't say enough great things about this bag and their products. Last but in no way least: I'm literally climbing up a ladder boarding a plane to leave Antarctica and I accidentally stepped on the waist strap and broke the clip. Totally my fault. I contacted the company and they sent me a replacement part within a week, no questions asked!I've been using Overboard backpacks for the last decade. This one is not quite as good as my first, but very comparable. Waterproof, comfortable, and holds everything I need it to. I use them for hiking, biking, and more.I have used the Overboard backpack for around 2 weeks now and I have found it is not the most waterproof bag. I use this with Coasteering which means I am in and out of the water. It has leaked a substantial amount of water and I will check for holes at the bottom of the bag. I now use another waterproof bag inside the overboard one to keep the valuables dry.However, I like the waist straps, the pockets on the outside are great, it is a well thought out bag for watersports.needed a good backpack for hiking and day outings like kids sports where if the weather was questionable, my camera gear and other electronics would be safe. The bag is comfortable and seems pretty durable. You will need to pick up some gear inserts, this bag does not have any padding or structure on the bottom or sides.Great daypack when hiking trails with submersible water sections. Used this on the subway hike near Zion's in Southern Utah and it was just what I needed for the day. Would not recommend for longer hikes or when you don't anticipate encountering water since it's a bit heavier than non-water proof packs.Wow this thing exceeded my expectations, materials are stronger than regular drybags , better built, straps are good for what it is, although there is a foam in them that appears may crack later, but won't affect performance.Sent the wrong bag the first time but overnighted me the right one and got to keep the wrong one too! Very nice bags! Would recommend to anyone with a boat that wants to keep things dry!Really like this rucksack.20l option is surprisingly spacious and feels high quality. Yellow option looks cool and I've had several compliments.I can't speak for longevity, but I've been using this for several months now as an everyday rucksack and it's held up well so far on my motorbike.The side pouches are a really good size and of a length which properly secures a small bottle.Bag was as described, is very waterproof - perfect for my fieldwork on a boat where I can leave it on the open deck and it protects my belongings from splashes and rain. I'll also be taking it on holiday for when I go diving, ideal bag for anyone who spends time on a boat. The additional pockets are very useful too. I am very happy with this product and I am very glad I purchased it; would definitely recommend.Really happy kept ever thing dry when caught out in heavy down pore comfortably to carry when fully loaded.Use it all the time in all weathers.very functional with side pockets and rear pocket. No need for waterproof cover fiddle.Super!
