The bag is well thought out and seems well made (time will tell though). Division of the center compartment into upper and lower areas is a great idea allowing separation of different items without lessening the overall storage capacity. The storage areas in front of the boots is great, although I have large size 30 boots and have to remove whatever is in them to remove or put in boots with any ease. The bag has some rigidity to is which makes loading it easier. The design lessens the center compartment items pushing into the bottom of the boot area as many other bags do which makes getting boots into the bag difficult or impossible.Suggestions to make this really good bag great would be to make it a little more square. In other words lessen the slope on the front. This will allow a larger opening for the top, a larger upper and lower center compartment, and the glove compartments on the front of the boot storage sides would interfere less with putting boots in and out of the bag. Also, the small front zippered compartment should expand out much more. When the bag is full with a helmet, this zippered compartment is close to useless. The storage compartments on the sides of the boots are nice, but again, they should expand out. Another thing is to change the direction of the boot compartment zipper so that you can put a boot dryer in the boots in the car and allow them to vent out the top. Yes there are vents on the sides, but if you have large boots as I do (size 30), the vents are below the boot opening.Got this for my very picky husband who spends hours researching products before buying. He liked it and started using it right away. It’s spacious enough for boots, helmet, googles, 2 pairs of gloves, hat and other small accessories. Easy to wipe down if it gets muddy from slush, etc. it gets thrown around in and out of the car and at the slopes and holds up fine. Backpack straps are comfortable, easy to adjust and sturdy. It’s only been through this season but I see it lasting through many more. When I saw this boot bag in a ski shop I immediately knew it was the one I had to have. It’s made of heavy duty fabric and zippers that will endure even the roughest use. It has a multitude of large pockets to hold all that gear and the heavy-duty handle and shoulder straps will ensure the integrity of those critical elements. Worth the cost! This is a well made, well designed... should I even say well engineered bag. Finally someone put real thought into designing a 100% usable boot bag. I started off with a Dakine brand bag with deployable boot carrying straps, at least that is what they called them. Ugh. This bag by Kulkea is just simply the best. The construction is top notch. The heavy duty vinyl bottom wipes clean of mud etc. should you need to set it down in the parking lot. The individual boot pockets are roomy and easy to load/unload. This is so not the case with strap based boot carry systems. My helmet and googles fit nicely inside the rear pouch with additional room for socks, underwear and a T-shirt as well. There is even a deploy-able helmet carrier should you need that interior room for something else. (Kitchen Sink?) The large center pouch accessed from the top is roomy enough for ski pants, jacket, gloves, a pair of jeans and perhaps a beverage too. This will be a snug fit but totally doable. Extra zippered storage areas on the hypotenuse side of each boot pouch are large enough for lunch or other goodies which are better when not crushed in a main compartment. The carry handle and shoulder straps are both substantial and comfortable and the padded waist strap is perfect with short wide (read tangle resistant) webbing to a sturdy plastic clip just as you would expect to see on a high end backpack. I know its more money than other options, but if you can make this reach the Kulkea Boot Trekker is a way better value than the cheaper options I tried. I also looked a the Swix bag of this ilk. The Swix bag is larger (too large for me) but also had thoughtful design features. The Kulkea however still fits into a standard school size locker with a little shoving. That nice wipe-able waterproof bottom is stiff when brand new thus the required shove and push to get the the locker door closed. Thanks Kulkea for such a nice thoughtful bag.Was able to stuff GoPro case, helmet and ski pants in center storage area. It is too big for overhead compartments on planes. With that being said, had to check it in as Xtra baggage, it held up great and no scratches on boots once.Very well designed. I like having a place for everything and having everything in it's place. This bag delivers! At first I thought too many compartments. No more. I have used it only twice, but love it. Socks and warmers in one pocket, gloves in another, trail maps and product in another, clothes in the large compartment accessed from the top and helmet and head/faceguard in large front pocket. All separated and protected from pockets for the (wet) ski boots. Change in the lodge and put clothes and boots in the bag where it belongs, then change back at end of day. Strap it all on your back for walking from car to ski lodge and back again. I have everything I need for the year in this bag. Extra socks, first layers, hand and toe warmers, etc. Minor qualms: The front access pocket was a little tight to get the helmet in. It shows you can strap helmet to bag. I found that to be awkward, but if you had a real lot of stuff, might be nice. Also the top opening was a little small and not real easy to get cloths in and out. This bag is not cheap. I bought two other brands that were close to 1/3 the cost. They were nice, but not nearly as nice as this. It is very well designed, and from my inspection ruggedly made. Time will tell if it holds up, but I am confident it will.Great ski boot and gear bag. Well thought out. A place for everything and everything can be in its place. The actual boot pockets are a bit tight for bigger boots (338 mm or greater). However, one adjusts and learns how to more easily extract the boots from the bag.Read a lot of review for this bag and it does not disappoint. Great bag, excellent quality.
